About This Project

The architectural composition of the new gas station for “KAUSIMA KOLOKYTHAS
SA” in Patras focuses on modernity and functionality while embodying the company’s
evolving vision. Positioned strategically along the main road, the station serves both
locals and travelers.

To strengthen the company’s identity and the building’s recognizability from the road,
special emphasis was placed on the treatment of the roof and its supports as integral
parts of the composition and dynamic elements of the design. The extensive white
roof covers the space of the fuel pumps for cars and trucks and essentially shelters
the building itself.

The result is a visually striking but functional structure highlighted by the linear
lighting that dynamically traverses the roof and harmonizes with the overall
construction. The supports are also interesting, as they are metal columns covered
with cement boards in a formation that gives the impression of movement. They
culminate in the islands of the gas station and discreetly frame the pumps. Painted in
a shade of gray, they harmonize with the overall construction.

Inside, the ground floor features a well-organized layout with emphasis on customer
perception and employee efficiency. Clean lines and minimalist decor characterize
the interior, with attention to lighting to enhance product display.

The sales area is marked by the lighting of the ceiling, where square lighting panels
in a grid of mineral fibers create a uniform bright “sky” offering a result of uniform
lighting in the space. Products are displayed on gondolas with adjustable shelves,
placed in a way that facilitates movement, as well as on the wall covered in blue
melamine, acting as a background to highlight the products. Hanging rails with
spotlights along the wall further enhance the products for sale.

Both the reception furniture and the cafe bar furniture, made from white lacquer and
oak veneer, stand out as units within the space and gather all necessary equipment.
Hanging fixtures in a corresponding shape complement the overall image. The wall,
also covered in blue melamine, serves as a backdrop while also housing the cabinets
and doors to the other service areas.

The restrooms for visitors are located to the right of the entrance, with easy and
unobstructed access. The same minimal approach is followed in the design, where
the use of different types of tiles signals their respective use. This change is
emphasized through linear lighting on the ceiling.

Overall, the design achieves a balance between modernity, functionality, and
aesthetic appeal, reflecting the company’s identity and vision.
